Whats your real name?
Not my stripper name?
I’ll make it rain on ya’ like a win…
What year are you? Major?
I am a senior going on super-senior working on a dual degree in Art and Nutrition-Dietetics and racing bikes.
It should be worth credits.
Specialty (Road/type(s), Mountain/type(s), Freeride, etc)?
I ride my road bike most, have a sick track stand, and can go uphill on a mountain bike very proficiently.
How long have you been riding?
I rode crap bikes until my Sophomore year of high school when my friends told me it was embarrassing. Then I discovered the Reno Bike Project,
fix gears, my first Univega road bike, and touring. About two year’s ago (2011) I did my first local races with the Reno Wheelmen. Hooked.
Favorite areas to ride?
Reno has tons of great places to ride, but I love the mountains around here, the challenging climbs and relative desolation.
Also, when I have the chance, there is some gorgeous riding along the Pacific Coast Highway.
What’s your favorite food before, during, and after a ride?
Beer. Before, during, and after.
Ok, not really. A good pre-ride meal would probably be some super complicated sort of oatmeal with
nuts and fruit, flax, some hippie-nut milk and honey. During, I stick to GU’s and Bloks. I am a sucker
for Peanut Butter Snickers on long rides. For some reason
I ended up with more Octane than I can handle, so usually that. After a ride: everything. Golden Flower or the
Whole Food buffet is also pretty inviting at that point.
Hobbies? Is there something else I could be doing with my time? Oh, I enjoy baking, reading, and
various other house-wifey past times. I like to stay in practice as my primary goal in life is to be a great wife.
I like making bizarre art and spend a lot of time picking a filter- Walden or Lo-Fi?
Gosh just so hip, and the ultimate goal of being a stay at home? where do I sign up???
Most memorable moment of the season?
Ah, uh…. so many? I’ll get back to that.
Default hipster answer. Answering memorable moments is so mainstream these days…
What are your plans this upcoming season?
I want to do well at Collegiate Nationals, start putting myself out there and finding a bigger team,
generally get swoll.
Erica made it to nationals (nattys if you’re a bro), had some unfortunate luck with a crash, but is still riding and ripping to become a category 2 racer in road this year! The ‘swole’ thing is to be determined.
Tell us a cool story brah…?
Well…. I just won Scalleycat. It could be my proudest non-official moment. Pulled an all-nighter,
rode the LeMond loop (100 miles with 10,000ft of climbing) after having already ridden 50 miles,
came back to a checkpoint, drank some Whiskey, shot-gunned a beer, and won the track stand
competition. I am the biggest hipster ever. Best part is my partner barely had any idea what we were
getting into and we still crushed it.
